Stechford to Marston Green. 7.5 miles. (15/01/24)

11 of us met up at Stechford for the most eagerly anticipated walk of the year (so far). The weather was sunny and freezing. Perfect. We followed the River Cole to Babbs Mill lake, then had our picnic lunch in a children's park at Kingshurst. Some members were seen sharing drugs, here. A woodpecker was heard as we ate.

On to Chelmsley Wood, passing Norah's former home. We turned to follow Kingshurst Brook. The advertised loo stop in Chelmsley park was caped as the loo was shut.

We arrived at the end of Birmingham Airport runway with just a short wait for the dramatic take off of the Emirates A380 to Dubai. Really impressive being so close to such a massive plane. 

Swift walk to Marston Green station for a train back to Brm.
