After meeting up at Worcestershire Parkway we caught the X50 bus to the market town and capital of plums, Pershore. Walking past Toyah Wilcox’s house we headed down to the River Avon and followed it for a mile or so before heading up to Tyddesley Wood which was full of birdsong and a chattering walking club. After crossing the bridge over Bowbrook we traversed a few fields which the farmer had recently ploughed so the going was tough in parts. Entering Croome Perry Wood the ground was carpeted in bluebells, flowering ransomes and primroses. A short lunch stop in Wadborough to take in the views was made more enjoyable by the lovely sunshine and Jason even took his jacket off! Walking over the level crossing we continued on the lane up past Littleworth and on towards Norton Junction. Norah had a pre- prosecco fall after getting tangled up in a briar on the way up to the pub so thank goodness I remembered to bring the first aid kit. Refreshments were taken at The Retreat Inn before the walk back down to Parkway. A lovely day with lovely company and glorious sunshine.
