Matlock circular 5 miles (17/04/24)

After travelling up to Derby we caught the 10.35 service to Matlock. Mr Dulson had an extended wait at Duffield as our 170 failed, but myself and Dave soon sorted it with our superior 170 fault knowledge 😂. Only 15 late at Matlock we began the walk taking the river path.

It was a lovely sunny day but still a cold cutting wind. The climb up Oaker hill warmed us up. Fantastic 360° views were taken in from the trig point. It was a slippy decent.

Once we got down and out of the wind we stopped at Darley bridge and had lunch. It was fields and then the path adjacent to the railway that we followed back in to Matlock.

Mr & Mrs Maguire joined us for a few drinks before we all travelled back to Derby.
