The walk started with a short section of Trent & Mersey canal before joining the Macclesfield canal as far as bridge 91 .We passed under the railway to go through fields and woodland to reach a narrow steep lane to take us up to Mount Pleasant .The weather was great at this point sun shining and we ascended up to Mow Cop with great views of Cheshire plain and Jobrell bank .We took lunch here as it was getting windy and in the far distance you could see rain approaching so the Folly walls where great to sit beyond as protection from the wind .After lunch we carried on past the old man of mow rock formation before a road took us to pot bank and eventually Congleton Edge with the occasional shower After leaving the edge the Biddulph valley way (disused railway line ) took us back on to Macclesfield canal for short walk to station .

We caught the 1525 train to Stoke where we caught trains to our final destinations
