Hednesford to Handsacre 8.5 miles (18/09/24)

Walkers present: A.Dulson, M.Sadler, D.Chambers (3)

The trio started this walk taking woodland paths over Hednesford and Rawnsley hills 

Before paths that  took us eventually past Horse pasture pools and into upper Longdon where a bench was our lunch stop with fine views .

After a short road walk we took paths past a windmill down to the busy A51 

Which we crossed and proceeded down a lane to Armitage 

At this point due to a slight wrong turn in the woodland earlier the mileage was at 8 miles which I advertised at 7.5 miles 

So decision was made do we get bus to Rugeley or walk the half mile to Handsacre along the main road .

So we decided to walk with the intention of refreshments in the olde peculiar pub which it was peculiar as it was shut luckily there is another pub 2 minutes  down the road by the canal so refreshments where taken in the sunshine before bus back to Rugeley 

The total mileage extended by a mile to 8.5 but what's a mile between friends 

The walk was a put together walk to save cancelling a walking date with no proper recee so didn't do too bad .
