Attendees: D.Peters, P. Cotterill, M. Simmonds, N. Graham, M. Sadler, D. Chambers, D. McDonnell, G. Corbett and

C. Scharf

We all met at Shirley Station at 11am and walked around to the Stratford to Birmingham Canal to start our journey.

Passing a very still and photographable Heron on way, before coming off the canal at Yardley Wood Road and heading down to the Chinn Brook recreation ground.

We then crossed the road junction at Priory Rd over to the old mill pond of Trittiford, before walking around it onto the path of the final stretch of the walk following the path of the River Cole.

Unfortunately due to part of the River Cole flooding part of our pathway, a slight diversion was taken back onto Priory Rd.

We then stopped at Green Lane Park for lunch at three conveniently place benches on the banks of the river.

On walking back around to Shirley Station we passed a house with lots of Halloween decorations outside for us to have a group photo to finish the walk.

Refreshments in the local pub The Colebrook Inn were had before heading home.

Dave Peters.
