Cromford to Wirksworth 6.7 miles (17/06/24)

Arriving at Derby station it was difficult too see who was coming on the walk as due to the download festival there where people with rucksacks everywhere and more mud than on the walk.

In the end just the 3 of us travelled on the 1036 to Cromford .

The walk started along the Cromford canal before leaving this at high peak junction .then steep  fields took us up to black rocks and a steep descent through woodland to Black rocks carpark 

We had lunch there on benches next to a large wooden spider before following the high peak trail and ascending the steep Middleton incline .

On reaching Middleton top  we had refreshments which included ice creams as the weather was so good with sunshine and no wind apart from coming from  Mark  

We then descended fields and a  path through a quarry into Wirksworth .

We then caught the 1515 bus to Belper for refreshments before the train back to Derby
